The 1st edition of the DOÑA ANA MOUNTAIN RACE is a MTB RACE for advanced riders (CAT 1) with a course of approximately 28 miles consisting of a loop that includes technical and fast sections (danger zone) and a clockwise climb to 'cathedral, followed by a second loop that culminates with a counterclockwise climb to 'cathedral'. The race also offers a shorter, but still technical course (CAT 2) consisting of the first 15 miles in the CAT 1 course. The race also offers a beginner course of 12 miles (CAT 3) consisting of a similar course to the CAT 2 course excluding the technical section (garden) and descending on zip line, and bypassing the 'danger zone'. Additionally, the race offers an "intro course" for real beginners and young riders consisting of a simple 6 mile course that descends using desert dance.
